TakeSwitcher is a FL Studio script designed to quickly switch between different takes in the Playlist using a MIDI trigger.
Select two or more Playlist tracks and press MIDI Note 60 / C5 to move to the next take. The selected take is activated while the others are muted, without affecting the rest of the project.
If a loop region is active, TakeSwitcher automatically returns to the start of the loop when switching takes.
TakeSwitcher works with the Playlist tracks you select.
Choose at least two tracks, then trigger MIDI Note 60 / C5. Each trigger moves to the next take:
the new take is unmuted the other selected takes are muted the rest of the project keeps playing normally
When the last take is reached, TakeSwitcher returns to the first one.
If a loop region is active, playback jumps back to the start of the loop each time the take changes.
Then use a key or pad that sends MIDI Note 60 / C5.
Once configured, TakeSwitcher will respond directly to that trigger.
Tip: Link your MIDI controller to the MIDI Out channel in the Channel Rack and use Unlock. Once linked, the controller can trigger TakeSwitcher directly.
2. Create a folder named TakeSwitcher inside:
Documents\Image-Line\FL Studio\Settings\Hardware
3. Copy device_TakeSwitcher.py into that folder.
4. Restart FL Studio if it was already open.
